Timber Trail Lodge

The proposed Timber Trail Lodge is an exciting new tourism product for the Timber Trail Cycleway (www.thetimbertrail.com) in the Central North Island. The trail is a two day, 80kms wonderful intermediate-level cycling trip. The fully serviced Timber Trail Lodge, to be constructed at the half way point of the Timber Trail, will eventually have 80 beds. I have assisted with the strategy, the business plan and am a minor shareholder (a couple of pillows). It is an exciting project to be involved with.

The investors, primarily from the Waikato, have a 30 year concession from the Department of Conservation. We are in the final stages of receiving final local body approvals from the District Council, with lodge construction starting later this year. We are working closely with local tourism transport and service providers to ensure there is a seamless service.
